PA System Fundraising Going Great!

Dear Salem Families, We want to thank all those that baked, brought, or bought baked goods over the last three weeks for our bake sales. It was a wonderful outpouring of help to raise over $950 for our new PA system. The Winter Pots Class led and hosted by Meg Bicek also raised over $830.00 in funds! We thank her and all the participants in that fundraiser as well. As always, we thank all SPTO members for all their hard work. We are making great progress towards our goal and we thank everyone who is helping us on our way!

Update on Teacher Calls and Reminders

Dear Salem Parents, Last night at our congregational call meeting, our voters called two teachers. Mrs. Kathy Miller, currently serving at St. John Lutheran School in Dakota, MN, was called to teach our kindergarten class next year. Mr. Jon Kulhanek, currently serving at Bay Pines Lutheran School in Seminole, FL, was called to teach in our 5th-8th grade and as Music Director next school year. Please keep both teachers in your prayers as they deliberate where best to serve the Lord with the abilities he has given them. Please note there is no Chess Club or Kamera Kids meeting in the month of December. We need to continue our attempt to keep classrooms separated and are hoping this helps. There are two services this week being held in our church sanctuary. Wednesday at 4 pm is the Advent service that the K-1 children will share their Christmas message. The Youth Program at Salem is serving dinner after this service. Thursday at 6 pm is the Preschool Christmas service. We are asking

This is the day we allow students to experience what their future will be like by "jumping up" a class for half a day. We will reschedule this for a future day in January. Thank you!

COVID Update We have quite a few families with COVID right now. Many are not the students, but we are seeing more students out quarantining. We will have more updates like the one at the previous voters meeting as we start up next school year. The one page update is attached below if you would like to view it. If you want a printed copy, please reach out to Mr. Klatt or the church office. Bake Sale Message from SPTO

Are you going to be doing some Christmas baking these next few weeks? If so, please consider making just a few extra to donate for Salem's Bake Sale at each Christmas service! All proceeds will go toward the PA system. Because the kid's Christmas programs are spread throughout Advent, we will need some goodies each week! If you are able, please put the cookies on the cart near the school office prior to each Christmas service. We would love to have items available for each service on December 1st, 8th, 9th, and 15th. Not into baking but still would like to help out? There are two options: 1) We are accepting store-purchased goodies. 2) We need 1-2 volunteers for each service to collect money "work" at the station. With each service being right after school, it makes it easy to volunteer and you could even do it for your child's service! Please sign up to volunteer here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C054AAEAC29A0FD0-salem5)

Weather Closings

Good Morning Salem Family, Our snowfall over the weekend is reminding me to share how Salem will communicate when we close for inclement weather. The first place to look is the ClassDojo app. I will make a school announcement and your children's teachers will send you a message as well that school is closed. We will also put our closing on WCCO, FOX, Kare 11, and KSTP. Please make sure you look closely at the TV as there is a Salem in Greenfield, on the opposite side of the cities as well. Look for Salem-Stillwater or Salem- Washington County. I try to call school around 6am or shortly there after. Winter weather is here! Thanks in advance for checking ClassDojo for information as we post it. Principal Klatt
