Saint Croix Lutheran Alumni Update - Callie Jo

Image
Hello everyone! Hope all is going well at Salem. I wanted to give you guys an update about what I’ve been up to at St. Croix Lutheran Academy. A big thing that’s going on right now is track and field. This sport offers something for everyone, from sprints to long distance running to jumping to throwing to pole vault. Personally, I do distance running. The main races that I’m in are the 800-meter run (0.5 miles), the 1600 meter run (1 mile), and the 3200-meter run (2 mile). Track is a super fun way to get to know other people and build a strong team bond. No matter what events you do, everyone supports you no matter how you perform. It’s really amazing to see God shine through my teammates as they compete in events where they can use their God-given gifts to the best of their ability. God’s blessings! - Callie Jo Otto

Saints Win Bowling Tournament!

Image
On Saturday, the Salem Saints B team received two first-place trophies!  One for being the top team during the regular season and another for winning the end of season tournament.  The high school coaches, Kris & Blake, were very excited to see this young group of players improve and bowl great matches. While the Saints A team didn't make it into the tournament bracket, they did get their season-high game score of 138.  All those players had a great time together and the coaches look forward to all (except 8th grader, Reese) returning! Many of the Saints were also recognized for a high percentage of strikes and spares (fill percentage).  A great accomplishment for those players.  Also, congratulations to Kris for signing his letter of intent to bowl for Wartburg College.  We wish him the best of luck as he continues his education! Thank you to all the players, parents, fans, and coaches for a great season!

Final bowling tournament!

Image
The Salem Saints bowling teams will be participating in the league tournament on Saturday, May 18th at Southtown Lanes ( 7941 Southtown Ctr, Bloomington).  The day begins at 11 am and will include awards, pool play, and bracket play.  Kris Swanson, a former Salem Saint, and our B team coach, will also have a signing ceremony at 11:15 am.  He will be attending Wartburg College and compete on their college men's bowling team!  Good luck to the Saints and thank you to all the players and coaches for a fun season.
