Full and Part-time Aides Needed for 2019-2020

Are you good with kids?  Need some extra income?  Would you like a schedule that matches with your children? Then we have the opportunity for you.  Salem Lutheran School is looking for preschool aides and a K-2 aide for the 2019-2020 school year. We will need one full-time aide for the 4-year-old classroom and possibly 2-3 part-time aides to cover before and after school care and an aide to help in the 3-year-old room.  The schedule for the part-time aides is dependent on the number of children scheduled for each day.  You must be 18 years old and be able to pass a background check.  We will train all other aspects of the job. Please consider this opportunity to help at Salem. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Grobe (jgrobe@salemlutheran.org). We are also in need of a teacher’s aide for Kindergarten and 1 st and 2 nd grade. This is one position that will be split between the two classrooms. School News Tuition Assistance Endowment Fund The School Board is collecting money for the Endowment Fund. We received a grant to give us $20,000 in matching funds from Antioch. We currently are at $13,000. This fund’s purpose is to create an account that the school can use to give families who want to send their children to Salem but cannot afford it. We will only be able to use the interest of this account to give to families. We are hoping to raise $30,000 more for either the endowment fund or the normal Tuition Assistance account. Mr. Klatt will give another presentation in April about the Endowment Fund and its purpose. If you would like your questions answered sooner, feel free to talk to any of the School Board members or Mr. Klatt. Confirmation We are blessed to have our six 8th graders confirmed on May 5th at the 10:30am service. If you are able, please attend and encourage them as they profess their faith in front of the congregation and have their first communi

Power up

Week 1: The PowerUp School Challenge will kick-off in our school this week with an exciting “Try for 5” veggie tasting lead by the PowerUp team. This 3-week challenge inspires kids to “PowerUp” with fruits, veggies, and active movement in a fun and exciting way! By participating in the PowerUp School Challenge, our school has the opportunity to earn up to $500 to use for wellness supplies, materials, or equipment that help promote better eating and physical activity. These dollars are based on the school’s participation and completed family surveys at the end of the School Challenge. We would appreciate your support throughout the School Challenge by encouraging your child(ren) to try more fruits and veggies. Also, please watch for a link to the family survey to be sent out towards the end of the challenge. Your child(ren) will be bringing home a Po
