December Lunch Menu

Just a reminder that we are still under a free lunch grant offered by MDE. If you had set your TADS account up for withdrawals to fund your child's lunch account, these will again be suspended in December until the free lunch grant has officially ended. Cold lunch milk, snack milks and extra lunch milks are not covered under this program. We will still be charging .40 per milk for those orders. Please remember the one milk included with hot lunch is free and Kindergardeners also receive one free milk every day. We hope to post more information on how long this grant program will last soon. Please contact the school office if you have any questions. school.office@salemlutheran.org December Lunch Menu

COVID School Year Salem has had a few more COVID incidents, but are healthy besides those couple of incidents. We have had two classrooms have to quarantine and both will be back after Thanksgiving Break. We are blessed to have great families who are communicating with Salem’s staff about sickness and helping to keep Salem a safe environment for learning. Please remember that due to the Stillwater School District's plans to switch to distance learning, we will not have bussing available to or from our school starting Nov. 30. Please make sure to have transportation plans for your children by then. Christmas Charity Giving Every year instead of a gift exchange, the classes at Salem ask families to give to a charity to help those who may not have as much during the Christmas season. This is our way of sharing the blessings God has given us and like our theme for the school year says Let our Light Shine! More information about the charities and how we plan to donate will be comi

Please Don't Forget to Respond

Hello Salem Family, If you haven't already done so, please respond to the short survey below. Salem's School Board is preparing for the 2021-2022 school year and needs your help. They are looking at staffing needs for the upcoming year, and are asking you to fill out the following survey to tell them your intentions for the upcoming year. This is by no means a commitment one way or another, but helps to see what your thoughts are as we move into the next school year. This survey should take you less than 5 minutes to fill out. If you have filled this out already - no need to do it again. https://forms.gle/okbbkkU1hcH4kKna7 Thank you so much for your help!

Bussing Situation

Hello Salem Family, I just wanted to inform you that the Stillwater Public Schools  approved the move to distance learning for K-12. We will no longer receive bussing starting Monday, November  30th. Please make alternate plans to drop your  children off and  pick them up if they typically take the bus. God’s blessings on your day!

Last day of Power-up Challenge

Today is the last day the students are tracking their fruits and vegetables for power-up. We have had great discussions on how important it is to be healthy. Keep it up, everybody! Families, please take the time to click on the link and fill out the survey. The number of surveys that are completed will earn Salem wellness dollars that Salem can use to purchase more equipment for the gym. Thank you for filling out the survey. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2020SchoolChallengeFamily

Bussing Extended

Hello Salem Family, I was informed recently that we will have bussing through  Tuesday, November 24th if the Public School Board  decides to  send the elementary school to Distance Learning. That means an  alternate means of transportation  will not be needed until  November 30th. God's blessings on your day.

Thank you to all of our Salem parents/caregivers who have served in our military. We are so thankful for all of the sacrifices you have made to protect our freedoms and our lives. We wish God’s protection on you and your families and his continued blessings as well. Pictured are a stack of cards that the students made for veterans. The teachers will be taking them to various locations where veterans visit. We also sent them to the members of our congregation that served in our military. Thank you again for all that you do!

School Board Message

Good Morning Salem Family, In the midst more restrictions from our Governor, the School Board  wanted me to share with our families how  we are going to  approach the upcoming months of school. We will continue to monitor the situations in each class and  quarantine, as we have been, following the  protocols put in place  at the beginning of the year. The only time we would ask the  whole school to quarantine  is if a majority of the classes were  infected with COVID, and it seemed that our school was the cause  of the  spread. If this were to happen, we would ask the whole  school to quarantine for 14 days to hopefully get rid of  the virus in  school. Everyone would then be able to come back after those 14  days. Again, this would only  happen if many cases arose in our  school and after a special Board meeting. There are no plans to  move  strictl
