April Lunch News

We are quickly approaching the end of the school year! If you have auto withdrawal set up through TADS to fund your lunch account, we can adjust the amount through April and May if needed to keep from over funding your account. Please note any positive balances in your account as of May 31 can be rolled over to the new school year. If your account is negative, a final withdrawal will be scheduled in June to pay for any lunch fees not paid by the end of the school year.

Please contact the school office if you have any concerns with your lunch balance.

Here are the awesome meals planned for April:

K-8 will be doing skits at Salem on May 22nd at 7:00 pm

Both of these events will be held in the gym at Salem (not at the Phipps). This will just be for this year since there were so many cancelled school days due to weather. Next year the play schedules and location will hopefully go back to normal. Thank you to everyone who gave your opinions in the survey. The School Board greatly appreciated getting your feedback.

Please don't forget to make this change on your family calendars!

Path of Peace this weekend!

Image
Join us this weekend for Path of Peace. This weekend we'll explore forgiveness from Jesus' perspective and from the experience of a man who was paralyzed. The songs Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone) - Chris Tomlin; No Longer Slaves - Bethel; 10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord) - Matt Redman will help us celebrate the forgiveness Jesus promises.

Also, childcare will be available this weekend (every 3rd Saturday). Please join us--we'd love to share a little bit of Jesus' peace with you!

Please Collect Box Tops and Cans for Our School!

Image
Box TopsOur school participates in the General Mills Box Tops for Education Program. Please consider saving these logos from many products you may already be buying or already have in your pantry and place them in the collection box at our school entrance.  Please make sure the Box Top date has not expired. To make collection easier for families, Preschool - 4th grade will have collection sheets available in the child's classroom to help with collecting these. You can, however, just put them in a plastic bag and drop them in the bin at the school entrance. Here is a list of the products that you can clip this logo from.

2018-2019 Box Top for Education Products

Aluminum Can Collection Our School Athletic Fund is benefitted by every aluminum can that you save for us. There is a can collection bin (it is a wooden bin with lid) on the side of the garage next to the beige house on our school property. Please drop off any aluminum cans in this bin (bagged in plastic bags is helpful).

Messy Monday Tonight!

Another Messy Monday will be held tonight from 6-7 pm at Salem. All families with children ages 2-5 are welcome to attend. Families will be charged $5 per child that attends and an activity or craft will be planned for the event. If you know of someone who is looking for a preschool or kindergarten for next year, please invite them. This is a wonderful opportunity to have them see our school and meet our awesome teachers.

3/9/19 Saturday Night Worship Service Canceled

Dear Salem members--

Due to the winter storm warning and the threat of heavy snow Saturday afternoon and evening, we have canceled our Saturday service. We plan to have services on Sunday morning, but please watch your email for an announcement if we need to cancel them too. We will also post the announcement on Facebook, the church website (www.salemlutheran.org), and on the local television stations. We pray everyone stays safe this weekend!

Salem Bowling

Salem will once again offer bowling this spring for boys and girls in grades 5th-8th. There is a fee of $60 to participate. (This fee is what Stillwater bowl charges each student for the rental of the shoes and balls for all of the practices.) Students that want to participate will need to purchase a bowling T-shirt that will have their last name on the back and their number.  If they participated last year and their T-shirt still fits they may use that. Just be sure to indicate on the bottom of this form what your number is so that number isn’t used by another teammate. Practices will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45-5:00 at Stillwater Bowl.  The students will need a ride to the bowling alley. So if you can help carpool that would be great. The first practice will be on March 26th.  The first bowling match will be April 12th.  A complete schedule will be available at the beginning of the season.

Please hand in this note by March 13th.
