Construction Near School

Many of you have noticed construction of a water run-off pond directly north of the school. This is a water filtration pond that is part of the street project that the city of Stillwater worked on last year.  Stormwater from Osman Ave N., Oxboro Ave N., and 63rd St N, drains to the Oak Park School athletic field. The hole was filled with three to four feet of sand and loam fill. The banks were tapered eliminating the steep sides that were visible. Vegetation will be planted to make a barrier to the pond. Hopefully, this information answers most of the questions you may have about the excavation just north of the school.
