Update from School District and Local Officials: Coronavirus
Hello Salem Family,
Like many of you, we are closely following the evolving situation on COVID-19. This morning district leaders, along with leaders from our charter and parochial schools, participated in a conference call with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE). At this time, MDH has provided guidance to schools to help slow the transmission of COVID-19 and protect the most vulnerable populations, however, broad school closures are not being recommended or supported.
Salem’s Board of Education will be meeting on Monday night to create a plan for e-learning days. The teachers will be informed on Tuesday morning so a plan is in place if e-learning days are necessary.
A reminder from the CDC: if you have children with pre-existing health conditions or have come in contact with someone who may have had symptoms, please keep your children at home. We want to take all the necessary precautions to keep everyone safe and healthy.
More information will come out early next week about plans for e-learning along with continued updates from the CDC and our local school district.
Finally always remember that we have a loving God who is in control of all things. We can trust that he will see us through this situation as he has many times in the past.
God’s blessings on your weekend.
