Last Chance for Discounted Registration Tomorrow!

Registration fees will be discounted through March 1. Please enroll your child through the email that was sent to you through TADS or enroll using the link below. You do not have to pay the registration online when enrollment is complete.  If you choose the 3rd option to pay by check you may bring this into the school office to make payment. Preschool families that wish to register should note that the schedule for their child was based on their current enrollment schedule. You may change the number of days, half, or full by emailing the school office with your request after you enroll (school.office@salemlutheran.org). TADS does not allow you to change this when you enroll online but you are welcome to select a new schedule for the next school year. Just let us know if this needs to be changed. Enroll for 2019-2020 Here is the academic calendar for the new school year: 2019-2020 Academic Calendar

Ash Wednesday - SPTO Fundraiser

The Salem Parent Teacher Organization will be serving the meal on Ash Wednesday, March 6th between the 4 pm and 7 pm services.  This is our only fundraiser this year, which helps support Grandparents Day, a Spring Event, and a Teacher Appreciation meal. We are asking any parents who would like to help to bring dessert (a pan of brownies, a batch of cookies, or even a store bought sweet) for the evening.  Olive Garden is donating the soup, salad, and bread for the night! Also, be sure to join us that evening for a delicious meal.

Final Round of MLC Meet Math Competition Complete for 2018-2019

Image
Earlier this week our students in grades 5-8 finished the fourth and final round of the Martin Luther College Meet Math competition. Students are given six questions to complete within a 25-minute time limit. Calculators are allowed for this competition, but they often don't help due to the complexity of the problems. Congrats to all of our students for participating in this rigorous math event. You can see our school and individual student results and rankings by visiting https://portal.mlc-wels.edu/meetmath/results/view . Our Salem fifth and sixth-grade students are in the B-6 category, and our seventh and eighth-grade students are in the A-5 category. Categories are determined by school size. Meet Math is a service club at Martin Luther College that provides mathematics contests for students in grades 5-12 who are enrolled in WELS or ELS schools. This club also maintains school and individual statistics that are the basis for various awards presented at the end of the sc...

Child Care Needed 2019-2020

We have a family who needs daycare until 6pm next year on most weekdays. I am wondering if there is a family who would be interested in making arrangements with this family for childcare until then. This is beyond after school care which is why we are seeking help. The student will be in 1st grade next year. This will allow the family to keep their son enrolled at Salem. Please contact the school office or Mr. Klatt if you can help.

K-8 Parent Input Needed Regarding Missed School Days

We've had quite a number of days off due to inclement weather this year. The Salem School Board discussed a couple of options regarding those missed days. The board is considering either adding a school day to our calendar or changing the spring play/performance format to make a smaller impact on curriculum and instructional time. The board is leaning toward changing the spring performance format rather than adding a school day. Before a final decision is made, the board would like to get input from our K-8 parents. We appreciate your time in responding to the following: https://goo.gl/forms/HGkO75v6QYcMW2aE2
