Welcome from Mr. Zolldan

From the Principal’s Desk:  Welcome Back!

Excitement.  Anticipation.  Apprehension. These words describe how you might feel about going back to school.  Questions fill your head.  What will this year bring?  What will my teacher be like?  How will other students treat me?   These are the question students think about as they start a new year of school.  I also had some of these questions this year.  How will other teachers and students respond to me?  Will I make the right decisions?  Do I know everything a principal needs to know to run a school effectively?  Like a lot of our students, I don’t have all the answers to these questions.  But I do know this, if I look to God for help and guidance, he will be there to help me.

The theme for our school this year is “Fix Your Eyes on Jesus”.  This is taken from Hebrews 12:1-2.  We need to look to Jesus for answers to these questions.  The Holy Bible is God’s Word.  When we use the Holy Bible daily for worshiping, teaching, making decisions, guiding behaviors, and counseling and encouraging others, we are fixing our eyes on Jesus, “...the author and perfecter of our faith.”  This is the main purpose of a Christian school like Salem.  As families, it is also important to make spiritual growth a high priority by having daily personal Bible study, small and large group Bible studies, and attending worship services.  We must learn to first seek God and his righteousness, and trust that he will provide for all of our needs according to his good and gracious will.  May God bless our school and our families this year!

Hebrews 12:1-2
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Missions for 2017-2018

Our mission offerings for the first semester are going to the Costa Maya Ministries in southern Mexico. Second semester mission offerings are going to the New Day Pregnancy Center.  Mission offerings are collected on Wednesdays when students go to chapel services.  Please keep these missions in mind and in your prayers.  Thank you.
