Need Some Parenting Tips?

Every week we would like to start sharing with you some parenting tips provided through the WELS website or through the Love and Logic website (many of our teachers are trained in the Love and Logic approach and use this in their classroom). Both of these websites provide wonderful resources to help you navigate the difficulties and blessings of being a parent. The first message we want to share gives insight on homework. How involved should you be? We hope these articles will be a blessing to you! Safety Precaution

Dear Salem Families, Some of you have expressed concern about the police officer that has been parked at our school for the past couple of weeks as you are dropping off your children. The city of Stillwater has done this as a safety measure now that public schools are back to in person schooling. They assumed a higher volume of traffic and bus issues would occur and are using extra police presence as a precaution. Even though our school has been in session since the beginning of the school year, they are including all schools in this plan to assure safety. For this reason, our school has a police car on sight as well. Rest assured this is the reason they are parked there and there is no other issue. I hope this helps calm any worries this may have caused and eases any concern. Blessings on your day!
