Getting Ready for 2018-2019 School Year

Dear Salem School Family,

We hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer! Even though the warm summer days provide much fun and relaxation, we are still busy here at Salem getting prepared for another great school year. Our school theme for 2018-2019 comes from Matthew 7:24-25, "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. The foundation of our school is God's Word. We have built on this rock every year as we use it to teach our students and help them grow in God's grace. As new staff is arriving and the school is getting cleaned and prepared, we are getting ready for another year of building and learning based on God's Word. What an awesome gift we have been given to teach your child and what an awesome year we will have as we continue to shape and mold students whose lives are "Built on the Rock!"

The first item to tell you is we are excited to use a company called TADS (Tested and Designed for Schools) to help manage our student information and to help you manage student assignments, grades, and school fees. We previously used TADS to evaluate financial assistance needs but we will now also use them for student records, lunch, and all billing.  You should have been contacted already by TADS via email to allow you to set up your enrollments for next year. If you haven't already done so, please complete this enrollment for each child you will have at Salem as soon as you receive it so we can finalize and confirm all information is accurate for next year. When you enter your enrollment in TADS, having your contact information as well as these items below on hand will make the process much easier for you:
  • At least two emergency contacts for your student with their phone numbers. Preschool families should have at least two pick up people as well and have a phone and address for each. If you do not have family in the area consider a friend or neighbor and have their information on hand to fill in.
  • Please note any health issues we should be aware of for your child and list them.
  • For Preschool, Kindergarten and 7th-grade students, immunization records should be sent to the school before the first day of school which is on August 27. Our fax # is 651-439-0035 if you would like your clinic to send them directly to us or TADS will also allow you to load them directly.
After you complete the TADS enrollment you will be sent a  tuition agreement as the final step to assure that your child is enrolled. TADS has a great support line (800-477-8237). If you should get confused or have questions along the way in filling out the enrollment or the tuition portion, don't hesitate to call them. If you have questions on adding a tuition option or any other items in making payments, please contact Diane in the school office (651-439-7831). All children must be enrolled and can be added to the TADS Enrollment as an additional enrollment within the same account and password. Please make sure to enroll all of your Salem students. You do not need a separate TADS account and password for each student. You can enroll them all in your same account.
